TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 17, 2018 A Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) shipyard will begin maintenance and repair work on the U.S. Navy‘s USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier over 12 months as part of its post-shakedown availability/selected restricted availability, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The Naval Sea Systems Command said Sunday HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division took delivery of the ship following the completion of an 81-day post-delivery test and evaluation, including approximately 750 shipboard aircraft launches and recoveries, and will install, complete or correct systems as part of the PSA/SRA.
