HII (NYSE: HII) has received a potential $130 million contract to provide long lead time materials and related engineering and design support for the U.S. Navy’s America-class amphibious assault ship Flight 1 LHA 10.
The Department of Defense said Thursday Naval Sea Systems Command will fund the advance material procurement using shipbuilding and conversion funds for fiscal year 2023 under the sole-source, undefinitized contract action.
Work will occur in Beloit, Wisconsin; Pascagoula, Mississippi; Brunswick, Georgia; and Walpole, Massachusetts through July 2028.
In December 2021, the Navy issued a potential $71 million sole-source award to HII to procure long lead time materials for the Flight 1 LHA 9 ship.
