TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 26, 2018 Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding arm has nearly completed 70 percent of the future USS John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier with the assembly of 317 lifts, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The company said Thursday the Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier is being built at Dry Dock 12 using the shipyard’s modular construction technique and a 1,050-metric-ton gantry crane that works to put together the vessel’s components.
