NNS split the trades and human resources and administration organization into two and named Horne to lead the former and Xavier Beale to continue serving as VP of HR and administration, HII said Monday.
Horne is a graduate of the NNS Apprentice School and served in various roles in the company before being appointed as senior trades director in 2022.
He entered the shipbuilding industry as a welder in 1983 and enrolled in the Apprentice School as a pipefitter and graduated with honors in 1989. Throughout his career at NNS, he became production department refueling manager, refueling trade superintendent and program trade director.
“Dave’s promotion reflects his exceptional leadership, experience and dedication, as well as his extensive knowledge of the standards and principles that we are working to strengthen across the entire organization,” NNS President Jennifer Boykin remarked.
