TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 17, 2018 The U.S. Navy has granted Huntington Ingalls Industries‘ (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division a $65 million contract modification for the acquisition of additional long lead time material for the future USS Enterprise aircraft carrier, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The full amount of the modification in support of the Gerald R. Ford-class carrier was obligated from the service branch’s fiscal 2018 shipbuilding and conversion funds, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work under the contract modification will run through August 2022.
