Petters, a previous Wash100 Award recipient, will continue to represent HII throughout the year and serve as executive vice-chairman of the board to support leadership transition efforts, the company said Friday.
Both executives have worked for the Virginia-based military shipbuilder since Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) spun out the latter’s shipbuilding operations into an independent company now known as Huntington Ingalls.
Kastner has held several roles of increasing responsibility at HII including as vice president and chief financial officer for the Ingalls Shipbuilding division. He previously served as corporate director of strategic transactions at Northrop Grumman and helped manage the company’s B-2, Joint STARS and Global Hawk programs.
Petters will continue to serve as chairman of the Aerospace Industry Association’s board of governors.
