Solon, Ohio-based expeditionary shelter systems provider HDT Globalhas purchased the assets of DRS Environmental Systems for an undisclosed sum in a push to expand the former’s mobile aircraft ground platforms, environmental control units and mobile enclosure product offerings.
The transaction will allow HDT Global to include two DESI facilities in Ohio and Kentucky to its sites in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, HDT Global said Thursday.
DESI produces transportable and rugged ground support systems, mobile enclosures, power generators and environmental control units.
Sean Bond, president and CEO of HDT Global, said HDT will integrate approximately 170 DESI employees with its team as part of the acquisition.
The transaction comes more than a year after Leonardo, then Finmeccanica, decided to call off its plan to sell its DRS Technologies subsidiary.
