Kevin McSweeney, a nearly 43-year aerospace and defense industry veteran, has been named president and CEO of Solon, Ohio-based military expeditionary equipment maker HDT Global.
He succeeds Juan Navarro, who has held the chief executive role over the past year and will remain with the company as a senior adviser to specific strategic programs, HDT Global said Friday.
McSweeney started his career at Grumman Aerospace in May 1980. He then joined Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) eight years later and held positions in program management, technical operations and maritime business.
His 16-year term at Lockheed was followed by 18 years at Telephonics, which he led as president from October 2016 through December 2022.
“Kevin’s proven track record of building cohesive workforces and growing businesses is an ideal fit with HDT’s strategic growth objectives,” said Vince Buffa, HDT’s executive chairman of the board.
