TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 18, 2017 Harris (NYSE: HRS) has teamed with the University of Rochester in New York to support a new consortium that would work to advance big data and analytics as part of the state government’s Finger Lakes Forward effort to boost the local economy, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The office of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday an estimated $285 million in federal and private funds will go to the creation of the Rochester Data Science Consortium — with Harris’ space and intelligence systems division as the first partner — and the construction of a 60,000-square-foot facility at the university’s Goergen Institute for Data Science.
