GTY Technology Holdings has purchased Ion Wave Technologies as part of continuous efforts to expand its share of the electronic procurement services market.
The acquisition allows GTY to branch out to the K-12 education sector through SpedTrack, Ion Wave’s mission-critical software for managing special education programs, GTY said Thursday.
GTY began its eProcurement expansion campaign in 2019 with its takeover of Bonfire. The latter then acquired online bidding marketplace DemandStar in December 2022.
With the Ion Wave purchase, GTY’s network of suppliers in North America has reached 700,000, while its government customers have grown to 20,000.
TJ Parass, GTY CEO, noted the newly acquired business will join Bonfire to bring joint offerings into the public sector market.
