The General Services Administration and the Small Business Administration have agreed to provide more contracting opportunities for 8(a) contractors and facilitate the use of the Multiple Award Schedule for agency customers under an updated partnership agreement for the program.
GSA said Tuesday it is collaborating with SBA to create a new 8(a) pool as part of efforts to implement the improved authority under MAS.
Under the new pool, current and new MAS contractors who are active in the 8(a) program will be eligible for competitive awards and sole-source contracts set aside for 8(a) small businesses.
“As part of the implementation process, GSA has identified existing MAS 8(a) contractors who are currently active 8(a) Program participants, and has offered those contracts to SBA for acceptance into the 8(a) pool,” the GSA notice reads.
GSA expects full implementation of the partnership agreement in 2023.
