Greg Pelton, former chief technology officer and vice president for infrastructure engineering at Polycom (Nasdaq: PLCM), has rejoined Avaya (NYSE: AVYA) as VP for technology strategy at the Santa Clara, California-based communications technology company.
Avaya said Wednesday Pelton will help shape a technology strategy as part of the company’s efforts to build a presence in the cloud-based unified communications and collaboration services market.
He will also oversee technology transformation and strategic growth initiatives in his new position, and report directly to Nikos Nikolopoulos, senior VP of corporate strategy, development and marketing.
Pelton worked as chief technology officer at Avaya’s government solutions arm from 2011 to 2014 before he joined Polycom, where he previously led collaboration platform and cloud product engineering businesses.
