Greg Karol, former vice president of human resources at Lockheed Martin's (NYSE: LMT) aeronautics business area, has been promoted to senior VP of HR at the corporate level.
His promotion is effective March 2 and he will oversee the company's global HR functions such as talent recruitment, development and retention, workforce training, compensation and diversity programs, Lockheed said Monday.
“Greg is a strong, multidisciplinary leader with proven experience leading human capital strategies in both manufacturing and services businesses,” said Marillyn Hewson, chairman, president and CEO of Lockheed and a 2020 Wash100 awardee.
“He also realizes the importance of creating an inclusive and engaging workplace environment that promotes a spirit of innovation and encourages high performance," Hewson added.
Karol joined the Besthesda, Md.-based company in 1986 as production supervisor for the firm's Patriot and Pershing II missile proects and development leader for its Performance Management Teams program.
