Greg Clifton Named Intel Government Go to Market & Sales Lead in Series of Exec Moves

Intel has appointed industry veteran Greg Clifton as general manager of government go-to-market and sales.

Clifton announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post published Friday.

In a separate announcement published Wednesday, Intel said it has appointed sales leader Greg Ernst as chief revenue officer; Srinivasan Iyengar as senior vice president and fellow; Jean-Didier Allegrucci as VP of artificial intelligence system on chip, or SoC, engineering; and Shailendra Desai as VP of AI fabric and networking.

The appointments come as Intel strengthens customer relationships and focuses on becoming a more engineering-focused company.

Allegrucci and Desai will report to Sachin Katti, chief technology and AI officer at Intel.

Leading Intel Government Technologies Go-to-Market & Sales Team

According to his LinkedIn profile, Clifton oversees the go-to-market and sales organization within Intel Government Technologies to deliver a portfolio of compute products and silicon engineering and integration support services to customers and partners to help them meet their business needs and mission requirements.

In this capacity, he leads account executives, capture and proposal managers, technical sales and marketing leaders and business development leaders to advance sales in the government sector.

Who Is Greg Clifton of Intel?

Clifton, a more than two-decade sales and business development leader, most recently served as GM of federal sales at Intel.

Since 2000, he has been with Intel and held roles of increasing responsibility, including direct sales manager, sales director and strategy lead for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community and general manager of defense and national security group.

Prior to Intel, the Virginia Tech graduate served as a regional sales manager at UUNET Technologies.

Greg Ernst as Intel Chief Revenue Officer

In this role, Ernst, a more than 20-year company veteran, will continue to report to Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan as he oversees revenue-generating activities within the company.

Since May, he has been leading the company’s sales and marketing group, or SMG. He has held a range of global sales, marketing and product development positions. He previously served as head of SMG across the Americas.

Srinivasan Iyengar to Lead Intel’s Customer CoE

As SVP and fellow, Iyengar will join the Intel Executive Team and lead a customer engineering center of excellence.

He most recently led global silicon engineering at Cadence Design Systems. He brings extensive experience in advancing hyperscale data center platforms for key workloads to the role.

Allegrucci to Lead Intel’s AI System on Chip Engineering

In this position, Allegrucci will manage the development of multiple SoCs as part of the company’s AI road map.

Before Intel, he was head of AI silicon engineering at startup Rain AI. During his 17-year career at Apple, he led the development of more than 30 SoCs across the company’s flagship products.

Shailendra Desai to Oversee Intel’s AI Fabric & Networking

In this position, Desai will lead the development of SoC architectures for the company’s AI graphic processing units and road map.

Prior to Intel, he led silicon engineering, architectural design and platforms across multiple mobile SoCs at Google.

He was the founder and CEO of SoC startup Provino Technologies, which Google acquired in 2021.
