The contractors will equip blank e-passport covers with computer chip technology and software to support the agency’s manufacturing work for the State Department, GPO said Wednesday.
GPO has incorporated security features into the country’s official travel document since 2005 and is also tasked with manufacturing the Next Generation Passport books, which include enhanced security features to prevent counterfeiting.
