Doug Natal, former vice president and general manager of the federal systems division at MapR Technologies, has joined data analytics firm Sumo Logic as general manager of its federal unit.
The 20-year government technology market veteran will oversee Sumo Logic’s go-to-market strategy that focuses on providing mission support to U.S. public sector clients, the company said Tuesday.
In his previous capacity, Natal drove business development, market messaging and sales initiatives at MapR, which he joined in 2016.
His industry career has included federal business leadership roles at Crossmatch Technologies, Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) and VeriSign. He also worked as vice president of the public sector business at Taleo before its acquisition by Oracle in 2012.
In the same announcement, Sumo Logic said it reached Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program “Ready” status for a cloud-based technology platform designed to help users analyze data from structured, semi-structured and unstructured sources.
