Georgia Tech's Research Arm Lands $998M Air Force Contract for R&D, Engineering Services

A nonprofit organization at Georgia Institute of Technology will continue to support applied research, development and engineering programs at the U.S. Air Force under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract worth potentially $998 million over 11 years.

Georgia Tech Applied Research Corp. will provide acquisition services for the Defense Research, Engineering, Science and Technology Development II contract, the Department of Defense said Monday.

DOD noted work will take place in Atlanta and that it expects the nonprofit to complete services in February 2032.

The AF Life Cycle Management Center oversaw the sole-source contracting process and obligated $12,199 on the initial delivery order using the branch’s fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation funds.

GTARC administers contracting, grant and research work for the Georgia Tech Research Institute.
