General Dynamics to Modernize Navy Amphibious Transport Dock Under Potential $161M Contract

General Dynamics' (NYSE: GD) NASSCO subsidiary has won a potential $161.3M contract to help the U.S. Navy update, repair and maintain the USS New York amphibious transport dock ship.

Naval Sea Systems Command received two proposals for the selected restricted availability effort via a full and open competition within the East and Gulf coasts, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The firm-fixed-price contract covers human resources and facilities needed for the modernization of the San Antonio-class vessel.

NAVSEA will obligate $138.5M at the time of award from the branch's fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance and fiscal 2019 other procurement funds.

DoD expects the NASSCO to complete the project by June 2022.
