General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat subsidiary has been awarded a potential five-year, $183.1 million contract to help the U.S. Navy manage nuclear regional maintenance department operations at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Connecticut.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee award has a one-year base period, valued at $40 million and options that would extend company services through August 2028, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Naval Sea System Command noted in presolicitation documents the sole-source procurement effort covers maintenance, modernization and repair of operational nuclear-powered submarines, service crafts, floating dry docks and plant equipment for the U.S. Atlantic Fleet.
The service will obligate $16 million in fiscal 2023 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
