General Dynamics Secures $230M Army Contract to Support Abrams Production Facilities

General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) land systems business will help the U.S. Army maintain and support production facilities of the Abrams battle tank under a potential five-year, $230 million contract.

The company will support facility operations, maintain government furnished property and update production processes, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Detroit Arsenal, Michigan-based Army Contracting Command will assign performance locations and funds per order as General Dynamics Land Systems works to complete duties by Sept. 27, 2026.

The service branch held an online solicitation for the contract and gathered one response.

General Dynamics also holds a $4.6 billion contract with the Army to implement SEPv3, Abrams’ latest configuration with updated communications, fire control, fuel efficiency and lethality.
