The company said Wednesday Danny Deep has been promoted to executive vice president of global operations. Jason Aiken will replace Deep as the EVP of combat systems and retain his responsibilities for the mission systems segment.
Furthermore, Amy Gilliland, an eight-time Wash100 Award winner, and Gulfstream Aerospace President Mark Burns will also serve as EVPs of General Dynamics. Gilliland will keep her current role as president of General Dynamics Information Technology, while Burns will remain president of Gulfstream, a GD subsidiary.
Lastly, Rob Smith will remain as the EVP of marine systems and continue overseeing all significant contracts for the GD business segment.
General Dynamics CEO on the Recent Personnel Moves
According to GD Chairman and CEO Phebe Novakovic, a nine-time Wash100 Award winner, Deep will oversee the operational efficiency of the company’s business units during a period of growth and change.
“Danny is a proven leader and has spent the last 24 years with the company in various operating roles and has deep experience and demonstrated results. Each of our business units will benefit from his leadership and focus on enhanced operating performance,” said Novakovic.
She also commented on Aiken’s appointment, saying, “We are looking forward to Jason expanding his portfolio and continuing his contribution to the company.”
Commenting on Gilliland and Burns’ promotions, Novakovic added, “I am pleased to welcome Amy and Mark to the select group of operating officers upon whom we confer broader corporate responsibilities.”
