General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat business received three contract actions worth approximately $191.2M combined to provide post-delivery support services for the U.S. Navys USS South Dakota (SSN 790) Virginia-class nuclear submarine.
The Department of Defense said Monday the company will provide planning, execution and alteration support for the submarine through a potential $76.2M contract action and another $55M contract action to install the Stern Area System under a previously awarded contract.
General Dynamics Electric Boat secured a separate $60M contract action to provide additional support services during the vessels post-delivery period. The contract work will be performed in Groton, Conn. with a target completion date of December 2020.
The service will allocate approximately $96M in combined funds for fiscal years 2019 and 2020.
