TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 29, 2017 A General Atomics business unit will collaborate with the U.S. Air Force to integrate the GBU-39B/B laser small-diameter bomb onto the MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle under a $17.5 million contract, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The Defense Departmentsaid MondayGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. will utilize a universal armament interface and dual carriage system to equip the UAV with the bomb under the sole-source contract that runs through Nov. 27, 2021.
