TYSONS CORNER, VA, November 29, 2018 General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business has completed a test to demonstrate the operation of a ground control station to fly and maneuver the MQ-9B SkyGuardian remotely piloted aircraft, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
The company said Wednesday the Certifiable Ground Control Station, which is compliant with NATO’s STANAG 4671 airworthiness requirements for unmanned aerial vehicle systems, flew the SkyGuardian to check critical flight operations, with additional tests scheduled on full launch and recovery, satellite communications datalink and other functions.
