TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 1, 2016 General Atomics has flown a Predator remotely piloted aircraft at its Unmanned Aircraft System Flight Training Academy in North Dakota for the first time as part of its training operations, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The company said Thursday the academy seeks to complement RPA training programs at the U.S. Air Force, with training for General Atomics aircrews beginning July.
“Our first class is already underway, and students progressed to the flight training portion of the syllabus today, ” said David Alexander, president for aircraft systems at General Atomics’ aeronautical systems business.
