TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 27, 2017 A business unit of General Atomics is working to secure approval from Japan’s government to integrate the MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft’s “Guardian” variant with the country’s non-segregated civil airspace, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The company said ThursdayGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. has entered into a research partnership with a consortium of Japanese industry, government and academic organizations to explore commercial and public applications for Guardian and receive operational approval for the medium-altitude long-endurance aircraft.
