Frank Varga, formerly vice president of operations at Apogee, has been promoted to the chief operating officer role at the Colorado Springs, Colorado-headquartered national security and defense technology provider.
Varga will work with the Apogee leadership team to advance the delivery of space, cyber and special operations capabilities to national defense customers and oversee business development and process improvement implementation, the company said Wednesday.
In his previous role at Apogee, Varga managed contractual operations and provided oversight of digital transformation, engineering and science and technology operations for Department of Defense clients.
He joined Apogee in January 2009 as director of the Air Force programs following a six-year tenure as a program manager at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH).
Before moving to the private industry, Varga served in the U.S. Air Force as ground systems engineer for command and control systems, and aircraft maintenance supervisor.
