Francisco Salguero, a more than 25-year information technology executive, has joined the Department of the Air Force as chief information officer for Air Force A1 within the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services, GovCon Wire has learned.
In this capacity, Salguero will provide guidance for the development of plans and design of human resources systems to ensure the delivery of services to Air Force and Space Force military and civilian personnel.
He will also serve as deputy director of plans and integration at Air Force A1 and oversee talent management-related IT infrastructure and strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
The newly appointed CIO most recently served as a digital transformation executive within Salesforce’s (NYSE: CRM) global public sector.
Salguero’s career in the federal government included time as CIO at the Federal Communications Commission and deputy CIO at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he held program management and other leadership positions at several companies, including Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), El Paso Energy and NETtel.
