John Wilcox, formerly chief information officer of the U.S. Special Operations Command, has joined By Light Professional IT Services as vice president of strategic initiatives.
He will lead By Light’s efforts to develop technology platforms and services for military customers in his new position, the company said Monday.
The nine-year Senior Executive Service member created SOCOM’s information technology strategy and led the operation and maintenance of its global network that supported nearly 80K special operations personnel.
Prior to SOCOM, he spent 28 years at the U.S. Army and supported the military service’s special and conventional operation forces in Hawaii and the Mid-East region.
Wilcox is a recipient of a Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster.
