His appointment took effect Thursday and he is admitted to District of Columbia, New York, Florida and U.S. Supreme Court bars, HII said Tuesday.
Jimenez previously held the general counsel role at the old Raytheon Company prior to the completion of its merger with United Technologies Corp. in April 2020.
At the Navy, he supervised 600 attorneys across the globe, advised officials on legal matters and supported oversight of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. His advisory work at the service branch spanned the areas of litigation, property, human resources, ethics, environment and finance.
The legal professional’s industry career also included work at ITT, Xylem, Bunge Limited.
“Frank brings significant experience in private industry and public service, including in defense industry regulation, governance, anti-corruption and international trade compliance,” said Kirk Donald, HII’s board chairman.
