Betty Sapp, former director of the National Reconnaissance Office, has joined Ball (NYSE: BLL) as a member of the board of directors.
John Hayes, chairman, president and CEO of Ball, said in a statement published Tuesday Sapp will complement Balls leadership team and board as the company continues efforts to meet its Drive for 10 vision and works to leverage opportunities within its packaging and aerospace businesses.
Sapp, a 2019 Wash100 winner, joined the NRO in 1997 and was appointed director of the agency in 2012.
She served as deputy undersecretary for intelligence at DoD and worked for 17 years at the U.S. Air Force, where she held financial management and acquisition roles with oversight of space and satellite initiatives.
