Cynthia Barreda, former CEO and president of information technology company NetCentrics, has been named chief operating officer of Preferred Systems Solutions.
CMS Equity Partners-backed PSS said Wednesday that Barreda brings more than 25 years of IT and federal contracting experience to PSS and will oversee market verticals for its mission solutions, national security and advanced technologies businesses.
She will work with PSS CEO and President Babs Doherty in executing the corporate strategy and vision of the Reston, Virginia-based government services contractor.
Before she joined NetCentrics in 2002 as COO, Barreda served as a principal at American Management Systems and an information management specialist within the U.S. government.
Job market research firm Comparably named her among the best female CEOs and top chief executives who demonstrated commitment to diversity in the workplace for 2018.
She participates in the Small and Emerging Contractor Advisory Forum and serves as a board member at the Women Veterans Interactive organization.
