Syam Nair, a former executive at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), has been named chief technology officer at Zscaler (Nasdaq: ZS) in a move that takes effect May 24.
Zscaler said Tuesday that Nair will serve as executive vice president for research and development in addition to CTO.
The 25-year technology industry veteran will be responsible for driving the California-based company’s R&D programs to support its Zero Trust Exchange platform, artificial intelligence technology and cloud security framework.
He most recently served as a Salesforce executive vice president in charge of product engineering and technology for various cloud and AI-powered customer engagement technology offerings.
While at Microsoft, Nair helped drive the development and expansion of data services for the Azure cloud platform.
