Melanie Heitkamp, formerly senior vice president of human resources at Leidos‘ (NYSE: LDOS) defense and intelligence group, has been appointed SVP and chief HR officer of L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) in a move slated to take effect May 21.
L3 said Thursday Heitkamp will succeed the retiring Kevin Weiss and oversee the company’s recruitment and retention strategies, core processes, diversity and inclusion, organizational transformation efforts and employee engagement functions.
Melanie brings a breadth of human resources and talent development expertise, which will help us advance our ongoing L3 3.0 initiatives and investments in human capital management, said L3 President and CEO Christopher Kubasik.
At Leidos defense and intelligence group, she led the units human capital strategy that covers a $4 billion sales portfolio and more than 10,000 workers globally.
She previously served as VP of HR within Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) information systems and global solutions business.
