Amela Wilson, former vice president of sensor and fire control solutions at Elbit Systems of America (Nasdaq: ESLT), has been named vice president and general manager of the surveillance division within joined FLIR Systems‘s (Nasdaq: FLIR) government and defense business.
Wilson will be based in Washington, D.C., and responsible for defining the division’s strategy and driving business growth efforts, FLIR said Wednesday.
The division she will oversee focuses on the development of technology platforms that incorporate gyro-stabilized, multisensor thermal imaging, plus ground surveillance radar, laser and command and control systems.
She previously developed strategies for a business portfolio and key military programs during her tenure at Elbit Systems’ U.S. subsidiary.
Before that, Wilson served as a sector vice president at L3 Technologies‘ (NYSE: LLL) aerospace business, where she managed platform and logistics sector programs.
