Alka Patel, former chief of responsible artificial intelligence at the Department of Defense’s Joint AI Center, has joined Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) to serve as vice president of government and external affairs.
The new VP wrote in a LinkedIn post that she will support Comcast as the company focuses on community investment and digital equity to ensure communities are provided with digital access, resources and assistance.
She most recently served as part of the Pennsylvania governor’s advisory commission on Asian pacific American affairs, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The executive also led DOD’s AI ethics and policy for nearly two years at JAIC.
Comcast is a Pennsylvania-based telecommunications company, which owns the NBC broadcasting network and the Xfinity connectivity business.
