Palo Alto, California-based aerospace company Space Systems Loral has appointed Michael Gold as vice president of its Washington operations.
Gold, who previously worked for Bigelow Aerospace as director of Washington operations and business growth, will work to assist SSL’s government business expansion goals and establish its presence in the capital, SSL said Monday.
John Celli, president of SSL, said Gold’s experience at civil and defense organizations will aid the company’s push to build on its commitment with U.S. government agencies.
SSL noted it currently has projects with NASA, the space agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
Prior to working at Bigelow Aerospace, where he founded its Washington office, Gold served as an associate for Squire Patton Boggs and McGuireWoods and as a business development official at Montana’s department of commerce.
He also took part in several advisory committees that worked with government organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration and NASA, SSL said.
Gold holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brandeis University and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from University of Pennsylvania’s School of Law.
