Mark Welsh III, a retired U.S. Air Force general and current dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, has joined the board of directors at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC).
Northrop expands its board of directors to 14 members with the addition of Welsh, the company said Thursday.
“His extensive leadership experience and deep understanding of global security are a great fit to our board, ” said Wes Bush, chairman, CEO and president of Northrop.
Welsh previously served as chief of staff of the Air Force, where he oversaw efforts to train and equip active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces who serve within the country and abroad.
He was also a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe, commander of NATOs Air Command, associate director for military affairs at CIA and commandant of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
