Janet Webb, former director of business development at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), has joined AbleVets as vice president of federal civilian healthcare at the Chantilly, Va.-based information technology engineering and consulting services contractor.
She will be responsible for helping drive AbleVet’s efforts to provide new technology for federal clients to address the healthcare needs of people in the U.S., the company said Tuesday.
Her nearly 25-year career also included time as VP of health and emerging technologies at AECOM (NYSE: ACM) and director of information technology at Emory Healthcare.
In her previous roles, she supported programs for the departments of Health and Human Services, Veterans Affairs and Interior as well as the Defense Health Agency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and Environmental Protection Agency.
Wyatt Smith, AbleVets CEO, said he believes Webbs experience will help the company extend its modernization support to HHS and help address the government’s health IT challenges.
