Finmeccanica has received a potential $335 million contract from Italy’s ministry of defense for the addition of nine Aermacchi M-346 aircraft to be operated by that country’s air force.
With the contract, Italy increased its order of M-346 aircraft to 18 with deliveries scheduled to start within this year and end by 2018, Finmeccanica said Tuesday.
Grazia Nunnari, head of national and international contracts for Italy’s national armaments directorate, signed the contract that also calls for logistics support, integrated training systems development, digital training aids, simulators and infrastructure at Lecce-Galatina Air Force base.
The company has received 68 Aermacchi aircraft orders from Italy, Israel, Singapore and Poland.
