FedEx, UPS, Polar Air Cargo Awarded USTRANSCOM Contract Modifications

U.S. Transportation Command has awarded contract modifications to FedEx (NYSE: FDX), United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) and Polar Air Cargo Worldwide to provide domestic and international small package delivery services.

The Department of Defense said Friday the command’s directorate of acquisition at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois expects work to occur worldwide.

The performance period will kick off on Oct. 1 and run through Dec. 31.

FedEx and UPS each received a potential $215 million modification on their firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts, bringing the total value of each of their IDIQ contracts to $2.56 billion.

Polar Air Cargo secured a $21 million modification on its IDIQ contract, increasing the amount of its contract to $220 million.
