Federal Procurement Vet Greg Rothwell Joins GovConRx Advisory Board

Greg Rothwell, a more than three-decade federal acquisition market veteran, has joined the advisory board of Reston, Va.-based GovConRx.

He will join other government procurement professionals on the board to support the senior management team and provide strategic direction for the company, GovConRx said.

Rothwell became the first chief procurement officer at the Department of Homeland Security in 2003 and managed the agency™s acquisition program through 2006.

Prior to DHS, he worked at the Department of Treasury’s Internal Revenue Service as assistant commissioner for procurement and as a senior career executive with oversight of procurement operations within IRS.

Rothwell started his career as a contract negotiator within the Pentagon and held acquisition leadership roles within the Department of Interior™s bureau of reclamation, office of the secretary and minerals management service.

He offered strategic contract guidance and acquisition consulting support to public sector clients after his years of service in the federal government.

Rothwell received numerous accolades during his government career, including the Presidential Rank of Distinguished Executive, four Hammer Awards and five IRS Commissioner Awards.
