Fairbanks Morse Defense has purchased California-based marine electrical hardware manufacturing company Research Tool & Die to further expand the FMD’s turnkey offerings in the naval defense market.
FMD said Thursday it made the acquisition to elevate its portfolio that supports naval power and propulsion systems production, maintenance and support services.
Investment bank PMCF acted as the defense company’s financial adviser on the transaction.

Wisconsin-headquartered FMD operates as a portfolio company of private equity firm Arcline Investment Management.
