Eric Huweart
Eric Huweart, former chief of staff for the Military Health System chief information officer, has been named vice president of military and veteran healthcare at Apprio.
The Washington-based government services contractor said Monday Huweart’s new role entails oversight of teams that support Apprio’s military and veteran programs with the Military Health System and Defense Health Agency.
“Eric is the rare individual who has both deep technical expertise and a strong medical background, ” said Apprio President Darryl Britt.
“Hell be able to draw on his vast experience in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service Corps to lead our existing programs and create new offerings for the agencies responsible for supporting the men and women who serve our country, ” Britt added.
Huweart served as colonel in the Air Force Medical Service Corps, where he also worked as deputy CIO.
The 24-year military healthcare management veteran also held the role of chief operating officer at the Pope Air Force Base Medical Clinic.
He is a member of the Health Information Management Systems Society and is a HIMS certified professional.
