Epiq Solutions, a radio frequency tool developer backed by Veritas Capital‘s Vantage Fund, has acquired avionics processing technology maker Xiphos Systems.
Edwin Faier, president and director of business development at Xiphos, will continue to lead the Montreal-based company under the Epiq brand name, the companies said Thursday in a joint statement.
The acquired entity has more than two decades of experience building embedded processing systems for space and unmanned platforms for domestic and international customers.
Xiphos will add its embedded processing tools to Epiq’s small form factor software-defined radio and turnkey radio frequency sensing offerings for government and commercial clients.
Latham & Watkins acted as legal counsel to Epiq and Veritas on the transaction.
Blake, Cassels & Graydon and Philpott Ball & Werner respectively served as legal counsel and financial adviser to Xiphos.
Veritas invested in Epiq in July 2022 through the private equity firm’s $1.8 billion Vantage Fund.
