Reston Virginia-based information technology company Electrosoft acquired managed security services provider Achilles Shield in a move to grow the former’s cybersecurity portfolio for the federal civilian and defense sectors.
Electrosoft said Wednesday its founder and CEO Sarbari Gupta will also hold the chief executive role at the acquired entity.
The woman-owned company participates in the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.
“With the addition of Achilles Shield, we are even better positioned to address the accelerating cybersecurity challenges of our federal defense and civilian customers,” Gupta noted.
Kevin Thomas, founder of Achilles Shield and senior vice president of strategic growth at Electrosoft, will serve as president of the cybersecurity business.
