The radar platform manufacturer said Tuesday Advanced Technology Systems Company, the prime contractor for the Army’s Security Surveillance System program, was provided with the radars in support of its work under a five-year, $191 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The Army’s initial order for 46 EchoGuard radars for the SSS program was delivered in December 2021.
The radar uses Echodyne MESA technology to provide 4D data on approaching objects that may pose ground and aerial threats such as an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Echodyne said the radar system works to support border security, perimeter surveillance at military installations and defenses against drone attacks.
