Doug Natal, general manager of Sumo Logic‘s U.S. public sector business, wrote in a blog post that the company has moved to the next stage of its application for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program Moderate certification.
Natal noted that the company progressed from “Ready” to “In Process” on the FedRAMP Marketplace and is working with the Federal Trade Commission in efforts to complete the authorization process.
Sumo Logic’s cloud-based log analytics platform is designed to help government customers review, interpret and understand computer-generated records.
“Machine-data is inherently sensitive in nature. We found early on that government customers need more than a, ‘Low-Impact Software as a Service’ FedRAMP designation, for a Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) solution” said George Gerchow, chief security officer at Sumo Logic.
“The road toward FedRAMP Moderate designation isn’t easy, but we know from experience that the effort is worthwhile. We see this project as a natural extension of our support for simplified, easy to implement compliance with other security standards like PCI and HIPAA – that puts Sumo Logic at the forefront of log analytics and continuous intelligence,” added Gerchow.
