The Department of Energy has started soliciting proposals for a contract to manage and operate an Illinois-based national laboratory focused on advancing research and developing technologies in the field of high energy particle physics.
DOE said Wednesday it expects to award the operation and management contract for Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory before the existing agreement with the current vendor expires on Dec. 31, and anticipates the awardee to assume full responsibility for FNAL’s operations by January 2025.
