The Department of Defense's Joint Artificial Intelligence Center is seeking industry input on AI systems that can support the development of predictive maintenance tools for H-60 Black Hawk medium-lift helicopters in line with the National Mission Initiative.
JAIC issued the request for information notice on Thursday in efforts to deploy a large-scale AI platform that can be integrated with the sensor-driven utility helicopters and T700 engine components to detect potential system and machinery issues.
According to the RFI, JAIC's predictor preventive maintenance technology is intended to serve as a pathfinder that will help train algorithmic models to execute real-time vehicle performance monitoring.
The center is interested in working with a contractor to further develop its technology, analyze data, train AI models and establish a visual representation of output to support integration activities.
The PMx NMI effort is meant to support the development of AI-enabled capabilities across the armed forces to synchronize the Department of Defense’s AI activities and expand joint force advantages.
Interested parties can submit ideas through June 8.
